Apple Cinnamon Porridge with Millet is here and I tell you, this recipe is a game changer!
Comfortably warm, healthy, creamy and packed with cinnamon apples and almond pieces that will make your breakfast taste like delicious baked apple.
First things first: I got the idea for the healthy porridge a few years ago from my dear friend Theresa discovered from the blog TheWaitress . Over time, I have modified it a little to my liking and the ingredients I normally have in house and oh my gosh, this porridge!
Friends, I tell you, this winter I have not done breakfast recipe as often as this one.
We’re talking about the creamiest millet porridge, which is incredibly delicious with coconut and cinnamon fried apples and almonds. There is a dash of maple syrup and I swear, your day can not start any better! Incidentally, there is also the apple and cinnamon porridge with millet as a sweet lunch or dinner.
First you cook the millet with a portion of milk and a portion of water. Then you schnibbelt two apples in pieces and heated some coconut oil in a pan. Now the apple pieces are allowed to crumble with cinnamon …
… until they have the consistency of delicious baked apple. Add to that almonds, which are roasted briefly in the pan. Now add some coconut oil to the porridge, pick up half of the cinnamon apples and top it with the remaining cinnamon apples. Madre Mio, I could do it again !?
Pimp your porridge
- Instead of cow’s milk, you can also use wonderful almond, oat or soy milk.
- You are absolutely free in terms of nutrition too. No almonds in the house? Then try walnuts or hazelnuts.
- I LOVE the combination of apple and cinnamon. But of course you can take all the spices you have in the house right now. Vanilla, cardamom and tonka bean (fancy!) Are great too.

Apple and cinnamon porridge with millet. This quick 7-ingredient recipe is simple, healthy and delicious!

[19459001 ] Put the millet in a sieve and wash thoroughly. Then place in a small saucepan with milk and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes over low heat.
In the meantime, cut apples into pieces. Heat 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in a pan and fry the apples in it with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon for a few minutes. Chop almonds, add and fry briefly.
Once the millet has completely absorbed the liquid, add 1 tbsp coconut oil and 1 tsp cinnamon. Fold in half of the cinnamon apples.
Distribute on two bowls and serve to taste with the remaining apples and maple syrup.
