Put water on the gnocchi and cook according to the instructions on the package.
In the meantime peel the onion and garlic and finely chop. Wash basil and cut into strips. Heat olive oil in a large pan and fry onion and garlic for 2 minutes, then add cherry tomatoes and cook for another 3 minutes.
